Be a Part of the BTB Love Belize Sea Challenge
Imagine paddling along the coast of the entire country, just because you love Belize! Love FM and the Belize Tourism Board have partnered to bring Belize the first ever BTB Love Belize Sea Kayak Challenge from May 17-21, 2018. Kayakers will paddle 218 miles along Belize’s coast, starting from Punta Gorda Town, all the way to Corozal Town.
The five days of competition will include overnight stops in Placencia, Dangriga, Belize City and San Pedro. Daytime stops throughout the five days will include Monkey River, Hopkins, Gales Point, Caye Caulker and Sarteneja. In addition to a championship prize, there will be prizes for first, second and third place for each division, as well as station prizes. The first team that gets to the ending point each day wins $1,000 each day of the race.
What a perfect way to get to know Belize. If you don’t want to compete, and simply want to feel the action, you can get out there in your kayak and share in the excitement.
Guests at Villa Verano can use kayaks at no extra charge. We also have paddle boards, a trimaran and many other amenities for your enjoyment.
Our guests love Belize and always look forward to participating in local events such as these to meet the people and experience authentic connections with other travelers and residents. The race will pass Hopkins on May 18, when it makes its way from Placencia to Dangriga.
